Sports Betting Among Youths in Africa: A Logico-Ethical Trial

Sports betting has been a rampant activity among the youths of this generation. It seems the nation is even in support of this activity because of the funds it generates to its subscribers and likewise the national treasury. This work attempts a logico-ethical analysis to examine the purpose and thereafter pronounce a verdict on sports betting in Africa particularly among youths. The paper will critically evaluate the many sides to legalizing the activity of gambling in the country. It would also enable government to understand better, the moral implications of legalizing betting in a continent that is badly in need of investors and at the same time make a decision whether to allow its teeming youths to feed more on diets that could promote moral degradation. Although the authour will not in this paper try to justify the logic of anti-gambling crusaders, it is pertinent for discerning minds to look at the issue at stake objectively and separate the chaff from the wheat
