Abstract

 An Anthropological Lens on the Impact of Soccer Development on the Economy of the Eastern Cape Province.

Currently, there is a lack of soccer development in the Eastern Cape Province and this impact negatively on tourism and the economic growth. The objective of this paper is to highlight some of the challenges facing soccer development and the economic growth in the Eastern Cape Province. Further, this paper will come up with the recommendations with the view of addressing these challenges. The research has followed a qualitative approach which include among others, person to person interviews using an interview schedule as a research tool to gather data. To supplement the above, the relevant secondary sources were consulted. The Marxist theoretical approach has been used in this research to understand the lack of development which impact negatively on the Eastern Cape Province economic growth.
