Pr Djibril Seck earned a doctorate in biomechanics and physiology of motor performance from the Pierre and Marie Curie University, Paris. He is an Associate Professor, a qualified Teacher in Physical Education and Sports, and a Combat Sports and Martial Arts specialist. Dr. Seck teaches and develops those subjects through traditional games and physical exercises for their integration into the Senegalese school system within an African context. He is the Director of the National Higher Institute of Popular Education and Sport (INSEPS), at the Cheikh Anta Diop University (UCAD), Dakar, and Secretary General of the Network of National Youth and Sports Institutes (RINJS). Dr Seck is involved in the training of sports doctors, physiotherapists and physical education teachers. He is also holder of a certificate in administration sciences, coaching and course development for distance learning networks. Dr Seck is a researcher, and has authored or co-authored over 100 scientific publications and papers. Africa is the context of Professor Seck’s activities which are meant to improve the quality of education and sports. Chairman of the National Committee of University Sports in Senegal, Dr Seck is highly committed to the promotion of youth activities, leisure, sport and education, with a view to bringing together and pooling resources, to highlighting their vital contribution to the foundation of basic skills at school and sport in relation to hygiene, health, sport, education, citizenship, development and peace. Dr. Seck is also involved in sports associations, promoting gender equity, management training, and coaching athletes such as handicapped sports people in sports suitable for people with special needs. Dr. Seck who is the recipient of several awards, has been elevated by the Senegalese authorities to the rank of Knight of Senegal’s Order of the Lion.
